The South African Index of Multiple Deprivation 2007 at Datazone Level (modelled)

This report provides details about an index of multiple deprivation that has been produced at datazone level for the whole of South Africa by modelling the Community Survey 2007. A version of the index focusing specifically on children was not pursued due to concerns about modelling estimates of deprivation for such a small subset of the population (i.e. 0-17s).

The South African Index of Multiple Deprivation 2007 at Municipality Level

The South African Index of Multiple Deprivation for Children 2007 at Municipality Level

Two indices have been produced at municipality level using the Community Survey 2007. The first focuses on the total population, while the second focuses on children only. Wherever possible, these indices use the same indicators as the 2001 indices, and as such, some analysis of change over time is included in the reports.
